There are many types of gas fires and they’re all designed for a specific idea in mind. Some are for aesthetics, some are for practicality and some are both.

Standard Inset – Inset gas fires are exactly what they sound like. The engine is flush, inset, into the wall and they can either be glass fronted or open. They range from a standard size of 16″ to much bigger ones like Gazco’s Riva2 600HL. They can be landscape, portrait or square.

Gas Stoves – Exactly what it sounds like, the look and feel of a wood burner without the hassle.

Flueless – Flueless gas fires don’t require a flue because they contain a catalytic converter which takes the potentially harmful emissions from the fire and convert them into safe, breathable gases. Due to the emissions then entering the room, a vent is required to be installed in the same room as the fire to ensure airflow.
